Course

The course will be mainly dedicated to the restart of the sector most affected by the epidemic emergency.
The current situation will be analyzed and how to manage the post-emergency phase with a look towards the future evolution of Hotels, Restaurants and Cafes.
A sector of large dimensions and potential, which requires more than ever innovation both in terms of the project and the role of Design, and of specialized skills in relation to the market, lifestyles, new consumption habits and safety.

POLI.design, a company founded by the Politecnico di Milano, has established the Advanced Training course in “HO.RE.CA. Design Interiors”, the specialization for architects and designers who intend to dedicate themselves to the design of new interior spaces dedicated to consumption outside the home and fun, in the name of design and the evolution of aesthetic languages.
The teaching is entrusted to professors of the Politecnico di Milano and to designers of the sector, technicians and researchers.
The teaching can be supplemented by expert testimonials.

The course is aimed at:

  • to graduates preferably in architecture, design or engineering and professionals in the sector who intend to specialize in the conception, design and furnishing of public premises and innovative spaces;
  • to hoteliers, sector managers who want to update themselves and need skills to face the current moment.

Teaching is assigned to Politecnico lecturers and sector designers, technicians and researchers. The teaching is complemented by expert testimony and visits to important locations.

Didactics

Frequency

Attendance at the course is mandatory for 80%.

Training objectives

The course in “HO.RE.CA. Design” widens and completes the training offer of POLI.design, aimed at the permanent updating of professional skills and the continuous scientific comparison on the main themes of innovation, product and system.

Didactic Plan

The “HO.RE.CA. Design Interiors” course lasts 24 hours and is reserved.
In addition to teaching, optional in-depth lessons with partner companies of the course are provided.
Classes will be held online.

Didactic Modules

The course program will be organized as follows:

  • Interior architecture and atmospheres for hospitality;
  • New kitchen solutions and models in relation to Covid-19;
  • Safety and quality in the food service and hospitality market;
  • The design of the restaurants: from the business plan to the attention to detail;
  • Conception, design and furnishing of a restaurant and entertainment venue;
  • The concepts for food retail: how to combine future experiences and rules;
  • Overview of the HORECA market solutions and examples;
  • From concept to management also in relation to the Covid emergency;
  • Materials and technical solutions.

Title Released

At the end of the course a Certificate of Attendance will be issued to the Advanced Training Course in “Ho.Re.Ca Design” and Open Badge issued by POLI.design.

Employment Opportunities

The course aims to compare in the classroom all the actors of the HO.RE.CA.: managers, designers and companies.
Participants will acquire innovative content and develop practical solutions to deepen their specific preparation.

Admission

Requirements

The course is aimed at all those who intend to acquire specific tools or improve their skills in the design of new spaces dedicated to consumption outside the home and entertainment, in the name of design and the evolution of aesthetic languages. Students are required to research and re-elaborate skills, passion, curiosity, enthusiasm and participation.
There are no special requirements for access to the course.
It is possible to schedule a telephone interview for mutual knowledge and information on the Course, on the objectives and expectations.

Deadline for submitting the application: 7 May 2021

Price

The registration fee is equal to Euro 400.00 + VAT.
To complete the training it is possible to follow all the courses of the hospitality training package with a discount. In particular:

Ho.Re.Ca Design Interior + Ho.Re.Ca Design Outdoor at Euro 400.00 (+ VAT) + 200.00 (+ VAT)
In order to take advantage of this partial exemption, the candidate must pay for both courses by 07 May 2021

The participation fee must be paid in a single solution.

The following concessions to attendance are also provided:

  • former POLI.design students: 15% exemption to be applied on the participation fee for the entire course;
  • current students enrolled at the Politecnico di Milano: 15% exemption to be applied on the participation fee for the entire course;
  • new graduates for less than a year: 15% exemption to be applied on the participation fee for the entire course;
  • for Candidates who will provide evidence of having received a DEM / Invitation from one of the partner companies, 20% exemption to be applied to the participation fee for the entire course;
  • 20% exemptions on the second employee who enrolls in the same course as long as the payment is made by the company for both.

The concessions are not cumulative and are valid only for the complete course and not for the theoretical module.
