Training objectives

The Course aims to compare all the players in the wellness sector in the classroom: hoteliers, managers, designers and companies in the sector. Participants will acquire innovative content and develop practical solutions to deepen their specific preparation.

The training objectives of the course are: Understand and manage the problems of designing wellness and wellness spaces, considering the environments, equipment and furnishings in a context where the clientele is more and more attentive, prepared and demanding; Manage the design process from the definition of the project brief to the development of the concept up to the evaluation of the business plan and the realization costs; Identify the dynamics that govern the relationship between the client and the designer and how to identify the drivers to generate a “performing” structure.

Didactic Plan

The course in “Wellness & Lifestyle – Design for a better living” is divided into different classroom days, each of which involves the development of a theoretical part providing the basic tools and of a part in which experts of the sector, manufacturers and designers present solutions and case studies. Based on their availability of time, professional interests and knowledge of the design programs, candidates can choose whether to participate in the theoretical lessons plus the final project work, in which to put into practice, in groups, the knowledge acquired, or only theoretical lessons. The course is developed in a theoretical-practical module of 56 hours of lectures and exercises and a final project work where the participants will be divided into groups and will independently carry out a project with scheduled revisions on alternate days for 32 hours that will allow students to express the design and creative skills acquired by comparing and putting oneself to the test through a stimulating design challenge.

In contact with companies, the market and professional operators: the collaboration with specialized companies will allow participants to have a constant relationship with the companies operating in the industry.

The research and application results developed in the final project work will be previewed to the Media and Academic Sponsors, and as part of any initiatives organized by POLI.design.

Educational tour:

Educational tours take place outside the canonical hours of the course, i.e., from 18:30 to 22:00 and are not part of the teaching plan or the number of hours of the course. The visits will be guided by the teachers of the course and propose visits to hotels, innovative spaces, spas and gyms. The purpose of these visits is to directly investigate the characteristics, functions, design solutions and transformations in progress.
