A big success for Strategic Design Specializing Master students once again participating in the Verallia Design Award, a competition born to test new design talents organised by Verallia, the world's third largest producer of glass packaging for food use.
This year's challenge focused on the design of innovative solutions for glass containers for typical Mediterranean diet products such as oil, tomato paste, ready-made sauces, wine or sparkling wine, vinegar, mineral water and liqueurs and distillates.
Several awards for MDS students, evaluated together with IED Milano colleagues by two distinct juries composed of Verallia employees, food and beverage professionals, specialized journalists and two designers.
The first prize was awarded to the team of Deniz Donmez (Turkey), Aura Ramos (Mexico) and Rohit Sahasrabudhe (India) for the De-Fiasco project, also chosen to participate in the first international edition of the Verallia Design Award which will compare the winners of individual national editions.
A particularly appreciated team the one of De-Fiasco designers, who also won the second place with Hand to Hand, while Nan Zhang (China) and Tipmanee Pravichpaibul (Thailand) won third place with Encounter.
To confirm the value of MDS projects, also the Facebook contest. The social competition has rewarded Ink, by Carolina Gutierrez and Julia Villamonte.
