The new collaboration between NTT DATA, Politecnico di Milano and POLI.design

Politecnico di Milano and POLI.design signed a new collaboration agreement with NTT DATA, a Japanese multinational leader in IT consulting and services.

The will to work together arises not only from the desire to carry out joint studies on innovative technological issues, but also and above all from the sharing of important values to be promoted together, such as support for equality, diversity and inclusion.
The primary objective of the collaboration is to initiate a cultural transformation, made possible by a synergistic use of the most advanced technological and design tools, to “put man at the center”, supporting an inclusive development of society, bringing technology to the service of the individual .
To achieve these objectives, the collaboration provides for the funding of research activities and projects that will affect various areas of primary importance to design and implement “transparent” technological solutions that have an impact on individual daily life: Smart Mobility, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Internet of Humans, Data Analytics, Diversity and Inclusion, Universal Design, Design for Social Benefit, Product and Service Design.
Activities that will primarily involve the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, the Department of Design, the Department of Management Engineering, but may then be extended to involve the entire university.
There is also an internal training program, managed by the Design Department, for NTT DATA employees and stakeholders, relating to the topics of Human Centered Design, Service Design, Design Management, for better planning of the services offered by the company. A program made possible thanks to the expertise of POLI.design, a world center of excellence for design, active in the world of professional training for over twenty years.
The agreement will also allow NTT DATA to contribute to the training of a selected group of students of the Politecnico di Milano on specific topics
The company is also committed to financially supporting the development of the university’s human resources, both at the faculty level (by funding an upgrade to full professor in Automatics), and at the PhD School level (by setting up a scholarship for the doctorate in design).

The partnership finally includes a recruiting and employer branding plan with dedicated activities carried out in collaboration with the Career Service of the Politecnico di Milano.
