The signing ceremony will take place tomorrow 30th March 2021.
The agreement between POLI.design and Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) kicks off to promote Italian culture and the vision linked to the field of design.
The agreement will make it possible to satisfy the constant growth of professionals in the sector with a very strong cultural background, capable of elaborating and transmitting the pillars of the most recognized design in the world, the Italian one.
“In recent years Italy has promoted a strategy aimed at strengthening relations with ASEAN countries, giving new importance to relations with Malaysia”, says Prof. Francesco Zurlo, President of POLI.design. “At the same time, the Italian presence in Malaysia is also constantly growing: in recent years, Italian companies have doubled, from 50 companies registered in 2012 to over 100 today, and that is why we are proud of the signing of the MOU together with STIDC. With this specific mission, we think that POLI.design will be able to support and exchange new methodologies with STIDC in the field of training young designers in various sectors such as products, furniture, interiors, user experience, etc. “.
POLI.design, a Society founded by Politecnico di Milano, is one of the most prestigious scientific-technological universities that allows designers, architects and engineers to deepen their knowledge and create a bridge between training and the profession in the field of design.
The collaboration with STIDC will make it possible to transfer the innovative know-how of the fifth university in the world recognized by the QS Ranking 2021 – Art and Design, fostering business culture, encouraging to increase cultural sensitivity and building a solid network of international contacts.
“Design must be considered as a bridge to connect different countries and cultures in the world”, adds Luca Fois, professor at the Politecnico di Milano. “Respect, empathy, creativity, collaboration, culture and method are capable of transforming visions into feasible projects”.
