She is also Associate Fellow at Said Business School, University of Oxford where she was on the faculty for five years. Her research looks at the emergence and development of \u2018design thinking\u2019 and the use of design expertise to address\u00a0organisational, social and public policy issues. Lucy is currently co-investigator on two UKRI funded projects which are cross-disciplinary and co-produced with non-academic partners.\u00a0With Guy Julier, she was co-investigator on two AHRC projects exploring social design. Lucy was AHRC design research fellow in Policy Lab, a team in the Cabinet Office in 2014-15 and works with a team in the EU Joint Research Centre using foresight and design to develop policy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"related\">\n<h4 class=\"titolo nero\">Abstract<\/h4>\n<p>To what extent can designers contribute to how public futures anticipated? How does expertise in design connect with, problematise or invigorate other forms of practice inside government? What hopes and concerns should we have for the growing visibility of design expertise within government? In this teaching and learning workshop, Lucy will share perspectives and insights from researching and practice. This includes working with public servants in two policy labs in the UK and in the EU. She will also draw on current cross-disciplinary research projects \u2013 one aiming to develop regulatory strategies to address the issue of anti-microbial resistance in India, and another exploring the potential and take up of AI in professional services firms.
