once again for the 2025 edition of the Porada International Design Award, an international competition supported by ADI \u2013 the Association for Industrial Design. This year\u2019s theme: the sofa. Participants are invited to design innovative furnishing solutions that explore the formal, functional, and aesthetic potential of the sofa, using solid wood as the primary \u2014 though not exclusive \u2014 material. In addition to showcasing Porada\u2019s iconic materials, the competition encourages projects that fully reflect the brand\u2019s identity and values, while allowing space for experimentation in upholstery, finishes, and detailing. <\/p>\n<p>Projects must be submitted digitally via the dedicated platform by 11:59 PM on January 31st, 2026. Entries will be evaluated based on originality, innovation, alignment with traditional solid wood craftsmanship, and experimentation with materials. Judges will also look for concepts that anticipate new usage scenarios for contemporary furniture. Each sofa design should express a clear coherence with Porada\u2019s identity, in both typological concept and technological or morphological solutions. Overall, the creative process will be assessed for its ability to blend artisanal tradition with a modern design approach. <\/p>\n<p>The jury will include representatives from Porada, POLI.design, and ADI, as well as five experts from the fields of design and design publishing. The total prize pool of \u20ac11,000 will be split evenly between two categories: Professionals and Students. Each category will award three prizes (\u20ac2,500, \u20ac1,500, and \u20ac1,000). An additional Giacomo Allievi Special Mention, worth \u20ac1,000, will go to the project that best combines traditional woodworking craftsmanship with structural and creative innovation.
