Bio

Daria Casciani is a Tenure Track Researcher at the Department of Design, Politecnico di Milano, where she teaches in the Master’s programme in Design for the Fashion System. She is the Scientific Coordinator of the Circular Fashion-Tech Laboratory, a distributed research infrastructure that explores advanced design engineering approaches for the ecological and digital transition of the fashion and creative industries. The laboratory supports research, experimentation, and prototyping activities, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across fashion design, engineering, prototyping, manufacturing, and craftsmanship.
Her research focuses on Fashion-Tech, AI for design, digital manufacturing, e-clothing, and the enhancement of craftsmanship through collaborative advanced technologies. By combining design engineering with human-centred and systemic design approaches, she investigates how emerging technologies can support more circular, resilient, and sustainable products, processes, and production systems while preserving creativity, cultural heritage, and the value of human expertise.
Within the Fashion in Process research lab, she collaborates on national and international research projects at the intersection of design, engineering, technology, and sustainability, contributing to the development of new methodologies, tools, and innovation strategies for the future of fashion and the broader cultural and creative industries.
