Kering Generation Award X Jewelry

Following the success of its inaugural edition at JCK Las Vegas 2025, POLI.design – Politecnico di Milano is proud to renew its collaboration with the prestigious Kering Group and the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) for the second edition of the Kering Generation Award X Jewelry.

The Award is coordinated by POLI.design, the consortium of Politecnico di Milano, Italy’s leading technical university and one of the top 100 universities in the world, with a dedicated Jewelry Design Department that serves as a hub of innovation. The Award involves 10 world-renowned universities and academies with courses on jewelry and sustainability, and supports visionary start-ups driving impact reduction across the industry by rethinking products, processes, and services.

This initiative draws inspiration from Boucheron, one of Kering’s jewelry brands, a Maison known for its innovative spirit, that has pushed creative boundaries since 1858. Boucheron’s Creative Director, Claire Choisne honors this legacy by constantly questioning the notion of preciousness, exploring unconventional materials or techniques. This audacious vision materialized in September 2022 with an Innovative Capsule using Cofalit®. Obtained by upcycling industrial waste through a unique vitrification process, Cofalit® is the most recycled matter there is, and has been dubbed “final material”. Many months of research and processing were needed to transform it into a material worthy of fine jewelry, and one that met Boucheron’s exacting standards of excellence and precision. Claire Choisne elevated this waste into precious jewelry, demonstrating that beauty and value can emerge from the most unexpected sources.

Through this Kering Generation Award X Jewelry, the expansion of an initiative first introduced by the Group in 2018, Kering is committed to championing creativity, fostering responsible innovation, and driving impactful change across the jewelry sector.
