EARLY BIRD 10% to enroll in our Specializing Masters starting in autumn 2021 and spring 2022
The course allows participants to learn the rules of designing, building and creating sets and costumes in different forms of entertainment and representation, from opera to musical, from prose to classical or contemporary dance.
The design involves different approaches and methods, from the most traditional (costume figures, stage sketches, prototypes or maquettes) to the use of the most modern computer technologies. Thanks to representatives of important theaters and companies in the sector, students will be able to enter the world of entertainment and discover its production phases.
The project work activity requires the student, at the beginning of the course, to choose from a list of titles that range from different forms of entertainment: prose, opera, dance and musical to design sets or costumes depending on the chosen specialization. Thanks to the project work, the students will also be able to create their own scenic and costume project to confront themselves with directors, set designers, costume designers, builders, tailors or light givers.
At the end of the course, each student must present the final result of their work to teachers and classmates.
In the costume course it will be possible to create (even from a distance) garments with a historical cut with varying degrees of difficulty to meet the technical skills of the student, from basic to advanced level.
The outgoing profile provides for the training of a professional figure who is aware of the stages of design and creation of sets and costumes, discovering which are the professional figures, roles and skills that enter into relationship with each other.
The knowledge acquired will allow students to face, in their future, markets and professional contexts other than the entertainment sector such as museums, commercial spaces or any place, even outdoors, intended for a theatrical performance.
The course lasts 80 hours
Common lessons in the afternoons of Monday and Tuesday from 14.00 to 18.00 (except for transfers caused by different theatrical programming).

The aim of the course is the training of a professional figure who has learned notions on the different elements that allow the design and creation of sets and costumes. It is a complex art that involves the coexistence of multiple technical and artistic aspects, knowing them allows, from the moment of conception, to take into account the peculiarities of each. The aim of the course is also to introduce information technology (not to learn its use), which support the design and creation of sets and costumes.
During the implementation of the project work, the student will be able to interact with the various professional teachers and then receive practical suggestions that will enrich the individual experience of each student.
