The Specializing Master in Yacht Design represented a real springboard for many young talents, an opportunity to approach a market as specialized as the naval as protagonists.

 

Tawainese student of the XV edition, Yihharn Liu is the winner of the Young Designer of the Year 2019 by Oceanco and Boat International. The project Manta, 80 meter sailing yacht with 2000 square meter of Dynarig sail, stood out for many reasons, including its accurate interpretation of the requirement, its cleanly elegant lines and a particularly well-developed and precisely drawn general arrangement plan. Harn is now working in projects for some of the top super-yacht shipyard in Europe as Perini Navi and Oceanco.

 

The Indian Naval Architect Balakumar Ramaswamy, after his studies in Yacht Design at MYD in 2015 and 6 months internship in the Italian yacht design sector, came back to his country to join the Ultramarine Yachts in Puducherry (India) as Yacht designer & Naval architect.  In these years, Ultramarine had a great success designing and building the first Class 40 racing sailing boat and the first foiling boat in India!  Some of the key success he had in ultramarine is the design and built management of the first welded HDPE boat for the marine police. Its the first kind of this boat to be built in his country. Nicolò Piredda, class 1994 and student of the XVI edition of the Master in Yacht Design, is winner of the prestigious international prize Young Designer of the Year 2018 by Boat International with the project Galanà, 60m Explorer Yacht. After an experience working in Alberto Yacht Mancini Design Studio and with Oceanco Styling Department, both in Monaco-Ville, Montecarlo, he is currently working as Interior & Exterior Yacht Designer for Dutch design office Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design.

Francesca Romana Treleani is owner and founder of the company Design for Sea – Luxury Yachtelier. Based in Monaco, Design for Sea is an independent interior design consulting firm working with international shipyards and other design studios in Europe and the United State. After finishing her Master degree in Yacht Design in 2011, she complete several important projects in collaboration with Palmer Johnson Yachts shipyard, with Said (Space Interior and Spacial Design) and Tony Castro Design studio.

Thibaud Le Merdy, french student of the XV edition, is ranked third in the Yacht Design Talent Award 2016 competition and first in the 2017 Young Designer of the Year Awards.

Him winner project Comète, an 80-metre concept with two tenders, one for general use and one to serve as a limousine, edged ahead in a very competitive field for its combination of modernity and elegance.

 Turkish Timur Bozca, student of the XII edition and winner of the international prize Young Designer of the Year 2015 with the project Cauta, sailing boat of 80'. The competition, sponsored by Oceanco, saw the participation of young yacht designers from around the world. Timur's project won over the jury with its futuristic design of the exterior lines, combined with the choice of a sail plan Dynarig, it was able to create a design of great visual impact.

 Banu Hunler, class of 1993 and of Turkish descent, is the runner-up for the competition Yacht Design Talent Award 2015 organized by Sea Level Yacht Design & Engineering and she has recently been awarded as part of the International Exhibition of Monaco by the Heesen Yachts shipyard, world leader in the construction of aluminum mega-yachts. Ferah Fezathe project presented by the young designer, newly graduated as part of the XIV edition of the Specializing Master, is a review of the sundeck and the profile of the shuttle 50M Dutch shipyard and was awarded for the balance of the lines and the play of transparency and light reflection on the natural materials used.

 Marco Achler, student of the ninth edition, is one of the founders of the company Face Srl, shipyard for the design, construction and refit of racing boats. A reality able to promote environmental sustainability in the production processes and research in the field of advanced composite materials and bio-composites even in industrial fields apart from the naval sector. Among the completed projects made from natural composite: sports drifts, inflatable boats, windsurf and supboards, in addition to furniture and design components for the interior fittings.

An active yachtsman from a young age and a skipper with experience in and passion for offshore sailing, Alessandro Valenti is a student of the third edition of the Master in Yacht Design and the founder of the VALENTI YACHT studio. Since 2005 he has worked with leading designers and shipyards, designing and engineering offshore sailing boats. As a specialist in technologies for processing light alloys, he is the project manager for the Gulliver 57' fast cruiser, a project carried out in collaboration with the French design studio Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group for a new shipyard created just outside Milan.
 
 Davide Cevola, student of the fourth edition, in 2013 founded, together with Francesco Belvisi, Livrea Yacht Italia, first studio and shipyard in the world to experience the 3D technology printing for the production of functional components and functioning of a boat. And this is how the project Livrea 26 was born, which modernly redesigns the lancia pantesca, the typical boat of the island of Pantelleria whose relevant elements are taken up and translated into a new day sailer model of 26 feet, more generous in size than the original but with the formal characteristics retained.
