Bio

Emilio Lonardo, designer, phd in Design, è docente a contratto alla Scuola del Design del Politecnico di Milano, docente presso POLI.design e Visiting Professor presso la FH JOANNEUM di Graz.
Nel 2014 fonda lo studio di design omonimo concentrandosi su un approccio multidisciplinare al progetto vincendo nel 2018 un A’Design Award per l’allestimento Colours! progettato per l’azienda Arjowiggns.
Nel 2015 è titolare del marchio Quadentro, brand di stationery design post-craft.
Nel 2016 fonda insieme ad altre realtà Isola Design District e nel 2018 crea il progetto D.O.S. Design Open Spaces che durante la Design Week milanese si propone di recuperare spazi abbandonati e sottoutilizzati
di proprietà comunale secondo l’approccio “use business to do design”. Il progetto nel 2021 diventa startup innovativa e abbraccia il mondo delle nuove tecnologie per migliorare la relazione tra uomo e ambiente. La startup vince diversi bandi locali, regionali e nazionali come “DEMO” della Regione Lombardia e SI 4.0 di Unioncamere.
Nello stesso anno viene eletto presidente dell’associazione InBovisa.
Ha all’attivo diverse pubblicazioni nazionali e internazionali sul design ma anche di poesia.

 


Emilio Lonardo, designer, phd in Design, is adjunct professor at the School of Design of Politecnico di Milano, lecturer at POLI.design and Visiting Professor at FH JOANNEUM in Graz.
In 2014 he founded his eponymous design studio focusing on a multidisciplinary approach to design, winning an A’Design Award in 2018 for the installation Colours! designed for the company Arjowiggns.
In 2015 he is the owner of Quadentro, a post-craft stationery design brand.
In 2016 he co-founded Isola Design District with other organisations and in 2018 he created the D.O.S. Design Open Spaces project, which during Milan Design Week aims to reclaim abandoned and underused spaces owned by the city according to the “use business to do design” approach. The project becomes an innovative startup in 2021 and embraces the world of new technologies to improve the relationship between humans and the environment. The startup won several local, regional and national tenders such as ‘DEMO’ from the Lombardy Region and SI 4.0 from Unioncamere.
In the same year, he was elected president of the InBovisa association.
He has to his credit several national and international publications on design as well as poetry.
