Dear Designer, | Mauro Porcini

Our Durando Bovisa Campus in Milan is ready to host “Dear Designer,” – the first event in this new format exploring the frontiers of design. Mauro Porcini – currently President and Chief Design Officer at Samsung – will give a talk and answer some of the questions submitted by the audience. That’s the peculiarity of the format: when you register for the event, you can submit a question to our speaker. We’ll select some of them for the interview.

Mauro Porcini is Corporate President and Chief Design Officer of Samsung, and the first-ever Chief Design Officer in the history of each company he has served, including Samsung, PepsiCo, and 3M. He leads Samsung’s global design organization, guiding teams across multiple regions and business units at a time shaped by rapid advances in artificial intelligence and technology.

Porcini is recognized for driving design-led transformation across industries, building organizations and elevating design as a strategic force for innovation and business impact. His human-centered approach positions design as both a generator of economic value and a catalyst for meaningful, emotionally resonant experiences.

Under his leadership, his teams have received over 2,500 design and innovation awards, reflecting a consistent commitment to excellence. He is also the author of The Human Side of Innovation and other works on design and leadership.  Among his distinctions—including being named a Laureate of the American Prize for Design and being included in Fortune’s “40 Under 40”—the most prestigious is the title of Cavaliere dell’Ordine dellaStella d’Italia, a knighthood conferred by the President of the Italian Republic, recognizing his contributions to global design and cultural exchange.
