Hosted by the prestigious Triennale di Milano, as part of the “Milan 2033. Seeds of the future” exhibition organised to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Politecnico di Milano, the "La Trentina" Consortium launches the 2014 edition of the “ADesignerADay” contest.
The famous saying "an apple a day…” is thus transformed into a designer/project a day, hence the title of the initiative.
Following the success of the first two editions, La Trentina, a company that produces and sells apples, in collaboration with DesignHub, POLI.Design and imn edia partnership with the magazine INTERNI, this year proposes a reflection on the relationship between food and design, supporting the creativity and passion of young designers strictly under 35.
AdesignerAday, in its renewed and "evolved" version, is this year finalised towards a major event scheduled for FuoriSalone 2014: from 7 to 21 April the winning designers will, in fact, be the protagonists of a dedicated exhibition space within the scope of the event organised by INTERNI in the historical cloisters of the University of Milan, presenting a project able to interpret the different ways of conceiving and expressing the culture of food in the various traditions, life styles and countries around the world through everyday experiences.
Judged by a special jury, participants must interpret, based on their design sensibility, the themes proposed by submitting their projects, strictly self-produced but not necessarily unpublished – by 24.00 hours on 8 January 2014 – using the application form downloadable from the website http://www.designhub.it/adad/adad-2014/scarica-il-bando
By January 30th, the jury will announce the lucky winning designers. All information concerning the contest can be found at www.designhub.it/adad

THE "LA TRENTINA" CONSORTIUM
The "La Trentina" Consortium, among the most important Italian and European apple producers with a total of 100 thousand tonnes/year, was founded in 1989 with the objective of coordinating the work of various member cooperatives in the Trento area. Through the 5 member cooperatives, specialising in particular in the production of 7 varieties of apples, it comprises approximately 1,500 family businesses that for generations have kept the agricultural tradition of the area alive. The cooperatives are situated in the main areas of Trentino and each ensures its members warehouses for storage, sorting and delivery of products, as well as management of paperwork and audits, with an approach of close cooperation.
