Ecobike Design Contest

Solsonica and POLI.design are offering € 7,000 in prize money for innovative projects involving an electrically assisted bicycle and a photovoltaic shelter to protect and recharge it.

The challenge was to come up with a new vision of two-wheeled electric mobility. Participants are requested to express their creativity in innovative projects involving an electrically assisted bicycle and a photovoltaic shelter to protect and recharge it.
The total prize money at stake is €7000 (€4000 for the best project, €2000 for the second, and €1000 for the third).

The Contest is organised by Solsonica spa, the biggest manufacturer of photovoltaic cells, modules, and solutions in Italy, at the cutting edge of research on the development of innovative processes and products to improve the efficiency of photovoltaic systems, and by POLI.design, which works to improve the Design System of the Polytechnic and in particular the facilities and professors at the best experimental laboratories in Europe for design, through continuing post-graduate training, consultation and training for businesses, and internationalisation initiatives.

The contest is supported by the ADI, the Italian Association for Industrial Design and the announcement was drawn up in accordance with the international regulations agreed with ICOGRADA, ICSID, IFI.
The aim is to select innovative and functional projects that take advantage of the possibilities offered by photovoltaic technology and electrical energy to design a sustainable bicycle, confronting the new challenges posed by the optimisation of energy use.
