DIA Design Intelligence Award 2024

Established in 2015, DIA is the first international academy award in China’s industrial design. Over almost ten years, the contest has reached an important global impact and has collected submissions from 70 countries and regions all over the world. Now, it stands as a platform for the evaluation, promotion, and cooperation of contemporary innovative design. It is also a tangible accelerator to bring creative ideas to the industry and the future. The competition returns to the origin of design, focusing on the core values of “Intelligence of Humanity, Wisdom of Life, Fusion of Tech & Art, Brain of Industry”.

Here below are some details about the call.

• Submission is free of charge.

• Deadline is on July 22th 2024.

• There are four categories: Cultural Innovation, Life Wisdom, Industrial Equipment, and Digital Economy.
• Entries will be evaluated in the Product Group and the Concept Group.
• The total prize is RMB 5,000,000 (equal to €634.000 according to the actual exchange rate).

DIA GRAND AWARD

• 1 winner, RMB 1,000,000/winner (equals to €126.800 according to actual exchange rate).

*Open to all entries from both Product and Concept Group.

PRODUCT GROUP

• Gold Award: 4 winners, RMB 300,000/winner (equals to €38.000 according to actual exchange rate).
• Silver Award: 8 winners, RMB 150,000/winner (equals to €19.000 according to actual exchange rate).
• Bronze Award: 12 winners, RMB 100,000/winner (equals to €12.600 according to actual exchange rate).

CONCEPT GROUP

• Future Talents Award: 4 winners, RMB 50,000/winner (equals to €6.300 according to actual exchange rate).
• Young Talents Award: 10 winners, RMB 20,000/winner (equals to €2.500 according to actual exchange rate).

BOTH GROUPS

• Honourable Mention Award: 300 winners (the actual number of award winners is subject to the evaluation results).

2024 DIA is open to all enterprises, universities & colleges, institutions and individuals. Owners, designers, and manufacturers can all submit their entries as well. All kinds of entries (such as products, software, integrated services, etc.) are accepted, but participants may not apply in both the Product Group and Concept Group.

• The Product Group is open to entries that have been commercially available for no more than two years or entries that are not available on the market but for which the model product with full functions can be provided for the Second Evaluation.
• The Concept Group is open to entries that have been launched for no more than two years or entries that have not been launched but can be demonstrated in real application scenarios during the Second Evaluation.
